We are delighted to offer Custom Fitting and Test Rides of the Fairfax Performance Bridle. The first bridle to be based on scientific research and designed to reduce pressure around 6 key pressure points.

And don’t just believe the research, every fitting we have done to date all our Riders have felt the difference, initially the horses take a few minutes to acclimatize to the change and then they just get better and better.

Finesse Bridles have created a bridle that has a unique headpiece. The headpiece is made of an innovative fibre material
that does not reduce blood flow and is designed to reduce poll pressure.

A study performed by Stud.med.vet Katja Gabara, Emilie Gertz and Dr. Adrian Harrison, carried out on 12 Icelandic horses, proved that all horses with no exception showed much more free movement in the entire body wearing FinesseBridles® as opposed to wearing a standard bridle

The importance of this is, that while working wearing a FinesseBridle®, your horse will not experience the same amount of so called ‘pain-strikes’ (pain-strike defined as muscle overload during work). In the study, not only the muscles related to the neckpiece were studied, but also the myofascial lines known to have effect on the overall movement of the horse, from the base of the skull to the hindlimbs. These being m. Splenius and m. Brachiocephalicus.

An article regarding the qualities of FinesseBridles® was puplished in the OJVM 2020. A Well-cited scientific journal that publishes advanced and innovative studies conducted worldwide by scientific and veterinarians.

You can ‘add on’ a Fairfax Bridle Fitting to your routine saddle check visit for an additional £20 fee. We do not recommend trying new saddles and bridles within one appointment as it is better to make one change at a time in order to establish optimum fitting selections.

Alternatively you can arrange an appointment with our Bridle Fitting Partner – Claire Chadwick of Vermillion Equine. Claire is Lantra Accredited Bit & Bridle Consultant and can provide Fairfax bridle fittings on our behalf as well as general bridle and bitting advice.
