My story: I started using Crewe Saddlery after all my tack had been stolen. My existing saddler was incredibly rude and unhelpful over the phone about giving me a quote but Crewe could not have been more helpful both in terms of providing me with an insurance quote and the subsequent saddle fittings. I have been with Crewe ever since. I run a breaking & schooling yard and have had loads of saddles and horses checked and fitted by Crewe Saddlery, they have worked miracles and managed a few tricky fits. The most recent fitting was for my horse Sailor who was short backed and had little wither. When ridden he is powerful behind and can throw me forward when jumping or in downward transitions. My new Albion SLK Dressage saddle has helped me sit through downward transitions better and I definitely love the way it holds my leg in place. Sailor is also showing bigger paces and more freedom of movement. I also had an Albion Kontrol fitted this saddle stops me from getting thrown forward when jumping especially through combinations. Crewe's saddle fitting service was professional, incredibly thorough, and not at all pushy. I have recommended Crewe Saddlery to friends & clients.

My story: I purchased a new horse "Tilly" and because Crewe fitted my other horses Buffy & Dan I had no hesitation in calling them to come and fit Tilly out with a dressage and jump saddle. I was looking for a saddle that really held me in place especially when doing XC. Having has an Albion Kontrol DS for both Dan & Buffy it was lucky that this saddle style also suited Tilly as I knew I would feel secure. The dressage saddle I chose was a Farringtons and this has definitely help improve my seat and leg position. My story: I purchased a new horse "Ivor" and unfortunately my old saddle did not fit. I chose Crewe as I have used them for years as they offer a professional & friendly service with a good selection of saddles to try. I bought an Albion K2 Jump Saddle which gives me a much better contact with Ivor and puts me straight into the correct position, it has a good knee roll and gives me support. I am long in the thigh so finding a saddle to suit me is sometimes difficult. Crewe gave me good feedback on my old saddle and I never felt rushed. My story: I recently bought Amada and needed a new saddle to compete in. I bought my first saddle from Crewe 21 years ago when my riding instructor recommended them to me. They are Qualified Saddle Fitters and are local to me so they are always my first choice if I need to buy something new for my horses. Amada had previously been ridden in a saddle that was too narrow for her and her muscle had built up all in the wrong places. Since having my Bates Isabell Dressage she has been a lot freer in her back and started to develop muscle in the right pleaces. My story: I heard of Crewe Saddlery through my instructor, Abi Swanston (BHSAI) who recommended them as a reliable saddle fitting service in our area. I needed a GP saddle for both my horses. One of my horses "Penny" has had extensive work on her back due to discomfort caused by an ill fitting saddle. Since having my Thorowgood Cob GP fitted Penny's way of going has improved and she is now jumping more athletically and straighter. The profiles that the fitter took each visit also show that Penny's muscles have started to develop. The Farringtons Event saddle that I had fitted to my other horse "Dexter" has allowed my husband George to start jumping and has resulted in an improvement in his position. Having had success with fitting a GP saddle I also got Crewe to fit me a dressage saddle, my instructor Abi has noticed an improvement in my leg position and this has enabled me to ride forward better. My story: When I bought Riley he came with no tack. I chose Crewe to do my saddle fitting as the yard where I kept him used them already. Riley is high withered and was a difficult because he had a damaged back from a suspected fall and an ill fitting saddle. He was reluctant to be tacked up due to bruising and was very impatient & easily stressed. When ridden he was reluctant to go forward and bucked & kicked during transitions. Together with physiotherapy having a correctly fitting saddle has meant Riley no longer has a sore back, he does not object to being tacked up and is calm whenever the saddle fitters take profiles of his shape. He rarely bucks and kicks and now moves forward more willingly. He is calmer and more relaxed maintaining a constant weight throughout the year. The correctly fitting saddle has improved his schooling and enabled my daughter to now compete at local dressage competitions. It has also enabled him to start jumping again. I have used Crewe for the past 6 years, they have always been very professional & punctual and have spent a lot of time making sure the saddle is the correct fit especially when Riley has changed or altered shape. They have been informative on the care of the saddle and also advised me on the advantages & disadvantages of different types of numnahs. My story: Having had our saddles stolen we were desperate to get replacements. We chose Crewe as we had seen them advertised. When I rang to make enquiries I knew straight away I had contacted the right place by the questions they asked and the prompt and professional way in which we were treated. Milton was a little difficult to fit as his saddle area is short and both myself and Hannah are long in the leg. Crewe were quick to recognise all our requirements and the Jaguar dressage saddle we purchased was perfection for Milton's shape and size. When I first rode in the saddle I felt his back muscles were working in complete harmony, he was never happier. Two days later Milton went out competing and won his Novice test with 87%. Both Hannah & Milton were very happy and have never looked back. They now compete at Elementary level with much success. My story: I purchased a new horse and did not have a saddle to fit. I was recommended to use Crewe Saddlery when I bought my children's first pony and I have used them ever since, my children now compete at FEI Pony Trials & BE Novice level. They offer a good choice and range and the staff are very helpful. I always have my saddles professionally fitted and believe that no horse can work properly with a badly fitting saddle. My story: I was starting to compete at dressage and only had a GP saddles for both horses. A local tack shop to me recommended Crewe Saddlery because of the large selection they offer and their ability to fit horses with difficult conformation. One of my horses "Oz" had very little topline and since he has been fitted with his Albion Dressage saddle his topline has really improved. My other horse "Archie" was difficult as he was quite short coupled and the Wintec Isabell Werth suited him perfectly and he is now moving more freely. My instructor Dianne Breeze has commented that both horse & rider have improved immensely since having the new saddles, "riding better and moving well". Both horses are scoring between 65 - 70% compared with their previous 58 - 59%. The service Crewe provided was excellent and I really felt my horses and I were being looked after properly. I would absolutely recommend Crewe Saddlery, your horse's comfort is paramount if they are comfortable then you can ask more of them. Crewe is a traditional store many of these are sadly slipping away and you cannot fit a horse from Ebay safely. I have bought lots of extra's from Crewe and always felt we have had good quality goods. I bought a beautiful bridle for Oz even though he had a very awkward head size, I've even had more sports bra fitted there too! Wonderful! They have great sales too.
